March Visitors
It seems that the snow has finally ended here is Southwest Virginia. Joe and family visited during the kid's Spring break and we took a couple of day trips. The first was to Appomattox Courthouse to see the National Park. It was a sunny and beautiful day. I was surprised to see so much more than just the courthouse building and the park grounds were peaceful and beautiful. Our second trip was to see the Booker T. Washington homestead site up at Smith Mountain Lake. This was also a beautiful park and we hiked over a mile through the woods on this warm and sunny day. The day ended with a trip to the Homestead Creamery for some freshly made ice cream. Perfect!
